Teacher FAQ's

How do I select a teacher?

Our teachers are independent business owners that operate under our umbrella and teach our curriculum to prepare their students to succeed. The teachers are listed here (on our website ) and we invite prospective students to read the bios provided and visit the individual websites to ensure the best fit for their needs, in terms of course delivery, timing and cost.

How long are the courses?

Levels one and 2 usually consit of two semesters of 10 lessons each. This may vary depending on the number of students in the class. Level 3 is somewhat longer due to the complexity of the materials. The CAAE recommends 3 semesters of 10 lessons each, but again this may vary.

How much do the courses cost?

The prices for the courses vary, as some teachers provide their own course materials that comply with our curriculum, and other teachers use textbooks that the student must purchase separately. Each teacher explains their pricing on their websites. Generally the cost of the course includes a marking fee for the exam, course materials and access to resource material on the website.

How often are the exams held?

Exams for Basic and Intermediate courses are held every year in the spring. The Advanced exam is held in the fall, due to the length of the course.

What is the benefit of writing the exams?

Upon completion of the 3 levels of astrology, Basic, Intermediate and Advanced, the student receives a Certificate of Astrological Proficiency. The student is fully capable of delineating a variety of charts, including natal and predictive (directed and return) charts. The student will also have knowledge of different house systems and methods of Astrology.

Are there Advanced courses?

The CAAE also provides two streams of post-graduate studies, a Diploma for Consulting Astrologers and a Diploma for Teaching Astrologers. Each of these streams require additional post-graduate courses, each approx. 8 weeks in duration. The courses include a final project, which is reviewed by the CAAE Education Committee. Upon completion of either of these streams you will receive a Diploma which confirms your status, and allows you to practice professionally.

The additional courses for each stream are listed here:
